Experienced High Poly 3D/CG Artist

Hutch is looking for an experienced high poly 3D/CG artist. The candidate will work with art directors and creative stake holders in the creation of high quality digital artwork for marketing and presentation.
Each of our games is created according to brand guidelines. We are looking for a self motivated person who is willing to engage with the brand guidelines and to immerse themself in the marketable positioning of each game.
Hutch makes games related to racing and cars. The artist will compose images using vehicle models, characters and environmental elements to create stunning action set pieces and glossy automotive beauty shots.
Uses include: Hi-res promotional banners for iTunes and Google Play; Game icons; hi-res images for print; in game splash screens; in-game promotions.

SOFTWARE and TECHNICAL
The candidate needs to have a high level of competency with the software required. Principally…
• 3D package – Maya preferred
• Offline renderer – V-Ray preferred
• Photoshop
• 3D sculpt package
It is important to have good technical instincts and tidiness
• Well ordered Topology
• Software lighting techniques
• An understanding of how to use materials and surfaces (e.g. car paint shaders)
• A curiosity for new techniques and ability to adapt workflow for differing compositional results

ARTISTRY
Compositions will be a collaboration with art directors and other artists. This candidate will contribute to ideas at an early stage of the visual design, providing thumb nails and mock-ups. Therefore it’s important that the candidate have good foundational art skills.
• A good sense of composition
• Innate sense of colour and able to demonstrate an understanding of colour theory
• A good feel for the effects of light and atmospherics. Including an understanding of outdoor lighting and an ability to create depth and atmosphere within an image
• A good sense of form, weight and space
• Understand the importance of narrative, even in the simplest of scenes

Brand & Marketing Manager

The Brand & Marketing Manager owns brand and marketing strategy and activation for the studios game products. This will include clarifying positioning to target audiences (to be validated through soft launch phases), Go-To-Market planning/activation and ultimately ensuring players are hyped about the games. The BMM will work with the Product Owner and Producer to ensure that live service KPIs such as retention, acquisition, revenue, no. of players, % market share, etc are achieved.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Brand & Marketing Director and development key stakeholders to define brand positioning and target audience strategy for our live and pre-launch titles.
  • Develop and own the delivery of the marketing campaign strategy, working with stakeholders across development, community, customer support and the communications agency.
  • Collaborate with the UA team and analysts to deliver retention, acquisition and other key commercial goals for titles in Live Ops and soft launch.
  • Develop and deliver player research initiatives to build insights, a stronger understanding of player behaviours and key growth opportunities within audience segments.
  • Develop creative briefs for the marketing art team to ensure all marketing creative is aligned with pillars and optimised to deliver key campaign metrics.
  • Regularly present plans to the org, acting as an evangelist for the brand strategy in relevant working groups.
  • Regularly report on KPIs including market share growth/ variance vs. the game titles’ competitive set within key app store categories.
  • Liaise, share plans and manage promotions with Apple and Google contacts to ensure Hutch’s game portfolio is well represented and regularly featured in app stores.
  • Work with the licensing team to drive promotional initiatives with brand partners, leveraging agreements to maximise value for the relevant game titles.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Ideally, you will have a love for games, cars and motorsport.
  • You will have 5+ years brand & marketing experience working in F2P mobile games businesses.
  • You will have developed and owned brand and marketing strategy and be able to demonstrate where your efforts have led to career wins.
  • You will have had budget management experience in developing complex multi-channel marketing initiatives, and be able to present the outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational, project management and written and verbal communication skills. 
  • A problem solver, you are confident, persuasive and highly self-motivated.  
  • A knowledge of our competitor’s marketing initiatives and the desire/ capability to take Hutch to the next level.
  • A diplomatic and professional approach, able to gather and share information in an energetic and inclusive manner, while dealing effectively with challenging situations.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in Marketing, Media, Communications or Business Management.

​ Studio Assistant

The main responsibility of the Studio Assistant is to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office, whilst delivering general support for the team as may be required. The Studio Assistant will be expected to arrive before the team to ensure the office environment is fully functional and in good order, conducive to the needs of the business and pleasant for visitors.

Most of the team work from home 2 days a week but the office is open each and every business day – as such, the Studio Assistant will be required to be in the office each day to support any team members who might be in attendance, whilst dealing with any other tasks relating to the day-to-day business of the office such as taking deliveries, etc.

The Studio Assistant will own relationships with key office suppliers and work with the Commercial team to help deliver a fun and vibrant environment for the team. The Studio Assistant will be expected to manage the use of space within the office on a day-to-day basis, whilst supporting the Commercial team in tackling the longer-term challenge of accommodating a growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome/greet visitors

  • Monitor stationary levels and order office supplies/equipment as required

  • Book travel for studio team as required and researching itineraries

  • Manage health & safety, first aid and fire safety
  • Manage maintenance schedule of general facilities (i.e. air-con, emergency lighting, etc.)

UA Manager

UA Manager/ Campaign Manager, Hutch Games – London

Job Description

At Hutch, we aim to make the best mobile racing games in the world. Our most recent titles Top Drives and Hill Dash 2 build on our previous success, and we’re launching two more titles this year. Our UA is run internally and we know there are many more opportunities to exploit both now and in future – and that’s where you come in.

Hutch believes in empowering and trusting our teams. We work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and have flexible hours the rest of the time. Ideas for our games are welcomed from all parts of the business. The six-person growth & insight team is currently evenly split male/female, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

As a UA Manager/Campaign Manager (depending on experience), your task will be to run UA campaigns that maximise profit across multiple titles.

Some examples of the work you will be involved in:

  • Planning our high-level UA strategy: which channels, campaigns, audiences etc
  • Designing and putting together campaign materials, working with our artists
  • Analysing and optimising campaigns
  • Keeping up to date with the field in order to exploit new opportunities

Experience running mobile UA campaigns on Facebook and other channels.

Do you have a good insight into what makes mobile games succeed or fail? Do you have a good idea of who the audience is likely to be for a given title, and how they are likely to monetise?

Community Manager

Job Summary

As a vital member of the Brand and Content Marketing team, the Community Manager will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and will define and deliver strategies that drive the growth, engagement and positive sentiment of Hutch’s game communities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the player community strategy for Top Drives and our upcoming titles.
  • Proactively seek dialogue with our players, inform, listen, prepare the community’s feedback and deliver input to the game and marketing creative key stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for communication via all community-channels (boards, Social Media, blogs) and keep players up to date.
  • Run the in-game and web forums, establishing an efficient and scalable strategy for moderation to ensure our communities are friendly and collaborative.
  • Be the bond between the game team and players and work closely with key stakeholders to help develop new game features that are designed around the community’s preferences and play-patterns.
  • Own the strategic communications and delivery of (live) production initiatives to drive community engagement (see Hutch TV, live-streaming, events, contests, surveys, etc).
  • Own regular reporting of the impact of key releases and other initiatives on community sentiment.
  • Support player research initiatives providing insights from within the game communities.
  • Define a strategy for scaling community management to accommodate our growing product slate.

Your Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Ideally, you will have a love for games, cars and motorsport.
