UA Manager (Contractor)
Hutch is looking for a talented UA Manager (Contractor) to join us in our London studio.

At Hutch, we aim to make the best mobile racing games in the world. Our most recent title Top Drives is our fourth title successful enough to run profitable UA, and we’re now launching 2 new titles a year. We’re running our UA internally and on a very small scale, but we know there are many more opportunities to exploit both now and in future – and that’s where you come in.

Hutch believes in empowering and trusting our teams. We work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and have flexible hours the rest of the time. Ideas for our games are welcomed from all parts of the business. The four-person growth & insight team is currently evenly split male/female, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. As a UA Manager, your task will be to run UA campaigns that maximise profit across 2 or 3 of our viable titles.

Some examples of the work you will be involved in:

  • Planning our high-level UA strategy: which channels, campaigns, audiences etc.
  • Designing and putting together campaign materials, working with our artists.
  • Analysing and optimising campaigns.
  • Keeping up to date with the field in order to exploit new opportunities.

Desired Skills & Experience

Essential
  • Experience running mobile UA campaigns on Facebook and other channels.
  • Comfortable running and optimising multiple campaigns.
  • Excited about coming up with new strategies and tests to improve results.
  • Highly competent with Excel.

Desirable. Two is fine. None are essential.

Games insight

Do you have a good insight into what makes mobile games succeed or fail? Do you have a good idea of who the audience is likely to be for a given title, and how they are likely to monetise? Can you look at poorly performing game, and figure out a target audience that would convert much better?

Miscellaneous other desirable things

  • Curious – driven to discover underlying explanations of things, just for fun
  • Creative – if your first 5 ideas don’t work, you can think of another 10
  • Business mind-set – you focus on what will have an impact, not just what’s new and cool
  • Experience in statistics, or modelling, or other such generally useful techniques
  • You’ve played a game by Hutch and have some good ideas on how to market it!
